Have been missing for many days hence did not update. The weekend was hectic but nevertheless very fulfilling. Its just hard to express that kind of feeling everytime I join such activity and go to that place and be together with the people there. I’m not going to post here in detail about where I go/what I did, will post it elsewhere soon.
Just updates on the earlier weekend, while the Muslim people were celebrating Hari Raya. We, among our family were making full use of the holiday and call for a get-together for…what else? STEAMBOAT lor..
Some of the ingredients for the night

cuttlefish (looks purple-ish??) the ever famous - big prawns

fish in slices meatballs

fishballs crabsticks

seaweed vegetables

mushrooms noodles

Of course not forgetting the dumplings (which was all gone within a few blinks) and the soup base (those at the bottom are mushrooms)

Everything’s ready, soup is boiling, tummys are growling, saliva are dripping, so let’s steam-the-boat!!

Looks colorful with all the different ingredients all mixed into 1 pot. Of course to feed more hungry tummys, we prepared some side dishes

Fried belacan chicken (yummy~)

Stir-fried Assam Prawns (double yummy~)
Why is steamboat popular? Maybe because it’s easy to prepare, and everybody can participate in. Well, there’s no need for a special reason to gather the family for a good dinner and meet-up, right??
I really hope we can continue doing this often. Nowadays everyone is just so buzy and seldom come over to my grandma’s house. Her face just brightens up when some who have not been visiting for quite some time comes and eat together. To bring more happiness to her, that’s my hope!!
Oh yea, after that weekend, I took vegetarian food for three days (Nine Kings Festival). Mostly eat at home, cooked by mum, as the vegetarian food sold outside is cut-throat expensive!!
Then another weekend arrived where I went down to KL. No details for that here (but elsewhere
)
Year end is coming up. Any plans?
