New Year eve dinner in Autocity
I guess probably almost all of the young people would eat out and celebrate with friends on this occassion. We went all the way to Autocity Pg, braving through the bridge after working hours and reaching there early enough to get a parking near the main loop where most of the restaurants are situated. We were dissapointed to find out that TAO Restaurant was fully booked for the night. So there we are, walking round and round the place thinking where to eat and with an almost empty stomach (since I skipped lunch) Every restaurant is almost full, even kfc and oldtown. As long as there’s something to eat, it’s FULL. We finally decided and ended up in 23 Takehana Restaurant, serving japanese cuisine. (Tel : 04-501 4888) We were quite surprise when the waitress gave us the menu. Because the cover is written Icchiyo!! nehh…the one in I-Avenue, BJ. *puff, thought that it was somewhere we couldn’t find in the island vanished in mid-air* Luckily the food came out to be okay.
The gyoza was just okay, more on the oily side though.
Oyako Donburi Set (Chicken) - RM 16.00 I ordered the above. The meat was tender and there’s alot of onion and egg. I like. hahaha
Kijiyaki Donburi Set (Chicken) - RM18.00 This one is nice. The meat is marinated with a fragrant sauce which is sweet and not very salty. Yummy. Don’t know what else was added inside as I only took a bite of the meat from my friend.
Kata/Waka Men - RM 15.00 Looks like what you can find in the ‘Char Hor Fun’ stall? Well yeah, it’s almost similar. But the gravy is definately much sweeter and the mee is ramen. We then walked around and sat in Starbucks to wait for the countdown.
I ordered the Toffee Nut Frappucino….a new flavour. It was WEIRD!! Very sweet but yet the sweetness is not like sugar sweet. It’s more like the sweetness of the nut or gula melaka…abit too sweet for my liking. My friend helped me to finish half of it…hahaha.
It was the last day of the lantern festival, which contributes to the crowd in Autocity.
Sports car and high end cars on display.
Please don’t mind my poor photo outcome as I don’t have a tripod. Mind you it’s not some special fireworks on display, just the normal kind you would have seen before. Just because I don’t have something stable to rest my camera, that’s why the fireworks look crooked. There’s also a stage set up for the countdown with some local artist making appearance to sing. A short video taken of the fireworks. Beware…turn down the volume!!
