I don’t remember when was the last time you spoke to me
I don’t remember when was the last time we sat together for a meal
It all happened so fast
It all started with a fall
Then things just begin to fall into pieces
Your health started to deteriorate
You began to lose you appetite
You don’t talk much anymore
Till comes a time when there’s frequent visits to the ward
From there onwards
I tried my best to be around you whenever I can
So reluctant to leave home while you were just lying there
But I had no choice to just continue studying
With the hope that you will be well
And I will meet you at home again when I get back
Things didn’t go smoothly from there
I made my way back for a short break to see you
But you were unable to speak to me anymore
Only nodding your head and waving your hand when I speak to you
How heavy my heart felt that time
We took turns to look after you
With all hopes and prayers
That we will see you up and going again
But I had to rush back again for studies
I still remember vividly
On the very last day of year 2005
At around three o’clock on a sunny day
While studying for my exams
I received a msg of you returning home
But that was soon followed by another msg
I broke into tears upon knowing
News of your demise
I rushed and flew back as fast as I could
But what’s left were wet eyes greeting me at home
I will remember what you have done for me
I will remember those little things you buy for us to make us smile
I will remember your wit and determination to get things done
The memories of you will be kept deeply in my heart
This is DEDICATED TO YOU on your 2nd anniversary

I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!
May you attain the final bliss of liberation

So sweet….
I just remembered the irony of how softly we spoke in the hospital and he could understand us, compared to how loudly we had to speak to him at home and the outcome was always unpredictable.
