The receipt of this place I went to was dated April 2008!!! It’s mid June now….slow in updating huh!!

Anyway with the work transition (and relocation and weekly meetings and assisting newbie and …and….) kept me full to the brim till I kind of neglected my postings here.

Ohh…back to the place Kenribbean Steak House located in Gurney Drive, just behind the hawker stalls, and nearby McDonalds.

The name is Kenribbean instead of the usual Carribean (in case you were wondering) is because the owner’s name is Ken, his shop specialty is Ribs and they offer coffee grinded from their selected beans…therefore KenRibBean Steak House. This is from what I read in the Star Papers which made a review of this place some time after we went there to try out.

It’s a double-storey house turned into commercial shop…downstairs which is laid out with plastic tables and chairs while upstairs with sofas and some wooden tables and chairs.

We choosed to sit near the balcony upstairs, overlooking the buzz of the hawker stalls and the view of the calm sea.

Fish Lover - Fish Gordon Blue (RM12.90)

A big piece of fish fillet filled with ham and cheese inside. Tasted quite good!!! Doesn’t look like a big portion from the photo but my skinny friend was unable to finish it. She always eats way too little anyway :P

London Fish and Chips (RM11.90)

Two big pieces of fish fillet with very crispy batter. Appetizing and very filling!! The salad was nothing special but I like the fact that they served the big-sized (fat) fries unlike those from the fast-food chain. Sour cream was served in a mini bowl.

But just wondering, what’s the difference between the usual Fish and Chips and this London Fish and Chips (both were in the menu)??

Hawaiian Fish Steak (RM11.90)

Grilled fish fillet with creamy sauce and topped with cut pineapples. Side dish includes mash potatoes and steamed vege. There’s a piece of ham on top of the fish too.

Black Boxer Chicken (RM11.90)

Grilled chicken with black pepper sauce. No complains about this one too. Managed to get a small bit from my friend who ordered this.

For drinks, we had iced Lemon Tea and Iced Peach Tea which was priced at RM2.50 each.

Overall, the staff are friendly, the price is reasonable, the place is simple but conducive and food-wise, it is acceptable. I believe they deserve more patrons there…but somehow the shop is rarely half-full everytime I pass-by. Could it be due the the limited parking space there?
