Many people enjoy egg tarts. There are a few types namely the Hong Kong style and Portuguese style egg tarts. I personally like the Hong Kong egg tart which has flaky and crunchy pastry with a soft and smooth egg layer on top. But sometimes when I see Portuguese egg tart, it tickles my craving senses as well.
Maxim Cake House not only sells bread, cakes, donuts and gelato ice-creams but also Portuguese egg tarts.
I bought a box of four pieces from Maxim Cake House in Air Itam (right at where the morning market is, just a few doors away from Suiwah supermarket). One thing good is that they have these 4-piece box and 8-piece box for you to easily buy and bring back for you family and friends. So it’s really hassle-free and secure.
Heating instructions at the side of the box.

The pastry is flaky while the egg in the middle is slightly harder and a little burnt compared to the usual egg tarts we see in any dim sum food outlets or Hong Kong style restaurants. It is also not very sweet, making it a good snack for tea time.
The main branch has been operating in Penang Road for a very long time.

And now they have expanded their business to four other outlets.

I like egg tart too. I like mine hot. I should go and try this egg tart.I tried their gelato b4 but not egg tart. Thanks for sharing!
