It was a Delight to be invited by Criz Lai to join the review session in Haven Delights @ Penang Times Square. Haven Delights is located at Level 1, at a corner lot.

Penang Times Square is not officially opened yet but roughly 3-5% of the shops have opened their doors to customers. Most of them are eateries.

Classy view from outside.

The decor of the restaurant. You can see that effort has been put in to designing it to be conducive and comfortable for diners. Wifi is available in here as well.

Buffet lunch or dinner is priced at RM 49.90+ per pax (children 50% off) with the condition that you order any of the 90 dishes listed in the buffet menu within a duration of 2 hours.

Just a sneak peak of the buffet-line (partially). It was still early when I snapped this, so not all dishes were out yet.

We were getting all ready for the dishes to be served. One thing to note is they have nice cutlery.

Stay tuned for Part II where most of the Fusion dishes served in Haven Delights are introduced.

US Pizza now has a branch at Nagore Road, diagonally opposite JL Steamboat. Initially the only outlet is at Island Glades at a row of shop houses beside Gembira Parade.

It’s a pre-war house which has been given a face-lift. Brightly lit and big signboard, you definitely won’t miss it if you drive by Nagore Road.

The interior is very comfortable. This is the cash counter and kitchen behind it.

Not many tables but just enough for dinner crowd. It’s a mixture of old (the doors, lamps, floor) and new (posters/wallpapers, tables, etc.). It’s good that they make an effort to preserve the house structure and look.

There’s saver meals or any orders of pizzas only. We picked the Twin Meal B (serves 2) at RM 33

The meal comes with 1 Regular pizza of choice, 1 set of Crazy Garlic Twist, 3 pieces of New York Wings or Buffalo Wings and 2 glasses of Iced Lemon Tea.

The Buffalo Wings were very juicy and mildly spiced. The wings were well marinated but some may find it a little oily as they use chilli oil. Yummy enough for me!! :)

The Crazy Garlic Twist was something that surprised me. It looked very normal and not enticing but the aroma caught me and soon after, the first bite filled me with herbs and cheese taste. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nice appetizer!! Would have been perfect if there were mushroom soup!

I can’t help but keep snapping photos of all the tabasco sauces available for us to enjoy with the pizza.

As from the bottles above, the sauces are (from left) Habanero sauce, pepper sauce, green pepper sauce and garlic pepper sauce.

The hotness level also ranges from left to right, with the left being the hottest. The Habanero sauce is at first taste, not really hot but soon after it overtakes your taste buds and numbs your mouth!!! But very "chi kek" though. hahaha

And finally the main entry, a regular-sized pizza (6 pieces). I forgot what flavour we picked but it was good. Ingredients include pepperoni, button mushrooms, pineapple, green capsicum and chicken cubes.

The base is quite thin so the focus is on the ingredients on top. And they are generous with the ingredients!!!

Some close-up shots

Overall, pizza quality is definitely better than the franchised pizza hut we have around. Conducive environment and service is attentive.

Food, Special day, Inner thoughts, Reflection, EventApril 7, 2009 9:18 pm

This post is specially dedicated to all those nice people who have spent some time celebrating with me more than a fortnight ago. My deepest gratitude goes to you for making that particular day memorable for me. It has been a long time since I last had a big celebration.

(above taken with friend’s camera)

(taken with my camera. This is what happens when you don’t adjust the white balance to align with the location lighting)

Packaging. Lovely box isn’t it?

Chocolate Cake from another group of friends. Thank You!

A specially-made cake by someone (you can never guess what flavour it is. Haha). Thank you too!

Had another feast too, but virtually. You might be thinking how? They are in different parts of the world, namely UK and Aust and they were so kind to forego their beauty sleep and wait till our morning here to wish me and have a "webfeast" which includes lamingtons, chocolate cake with lots of cream and strawberries, roti canai, spring rolls, poh piah and even hor fun!!!

Haha it was real fun….imagination that is! Gotta have a powerful imagination if you plan to try that out. But the underline is that there are really people who cared and are willing enough to go to a certain extend to make someone’s day a much brighter one!

And my solitary gift of the year (and many more quiet years earlier)….. tadaaa

I’m not gonna bore you with how it looked but one cute label written on the box is…

Thanks a million to the sender. You know who you are. You have always lived up to the tagline of "a friend in need, is a friend indeed". And I hope I can be that sort of friend to you too! *Hugs*

It has been a wonderful start for the first quarter of the year, thanks to all the messages and cakes.

Looking forward to next year as someone promised to take me to a 5-star seafood buffet!!!! Hahahaha

~Cheers~
