The No Eye Deer - Revisit and Review
The No Eye Deer is tucked in a place which doesn’t attract much attention. (Located at Prima Tanjung, Jalan Fettes, 1st floor, above 7-11). But the food served in this outlet is quite special and delicious.
This was my second time coming here (My last visit to this outlet). It’s much more quiet during weekdays but on weekend, streams of visitors come to savour their specialty.

A trivia: The paintings hung on the wall are the master piece of the proprietor, Ken Low!! Isn’t he a skillful artist?
The paintings are all very cute and unique!
On to the main attraction…the food. It’s a mixture of Western and Asian delights.
They have set meals and also ala-carte.
Clock-wise (from top left):
A rich and delicious banana smoothie with ice cream & chunky peanuts.

I had the Drama Queen (topped with green apple). I like sourish taste. So this one, with sour from the plum and sweet from the interesting mixture of pink guava and pineapple, makes it a refreshing juice.
Famous signature dish of rice noodle in a spicy & piquant soup with tender beef or chicken, bean sprouts and basil.

Top one was with chicken meat while below is beef. This dish really surprised me. I didn’t look forward to it or have high-hopes since this place is more specialized in western food.

Like the description, "spicy and piquant soup", is what made me hooked to this dish. Just the right balance of sourness and spiciness, together with the "al dente" rice noodle and fragrant basil, it was so pleasing to my taste-bud. The soup in chicken meat and beef taste a little different as beef has a stronger taste, and hence some say it’s nicer. Thumbs-up from all of us!!

Pumpkin Soup? We did not try this as it was part of a set meal which Chris and Leslie ordered.
We were told by Ken of this dish so we gave it a try.

I don’t fancy beef so I only took a bite of the crust, which was alright but strongly infused with the beef filling. The fries was still very crunchy and didn’t turn soggy even after being left around for long.

Chicken cheedar sausage in brown sauce. No complaints about this dish. Both the sausage and sauce is not too salty.

Char-grilled tender beef steak with traditional rich brown gravy and served with homemade mashed potato, broccoli & carrots.
I did not try this too but comments from others was although it don’t look that appetizing, it was actually delicious. Juicy and tender.

Italian styled chicken fillet with stewed tomato and Mozarella cheese. Served with mash potato and salad.

The last time I had this dish, it was not that dry. Maybe we have left it for too long before consuming. The chicken fillet seemed to soak up all the stewed tomato gravy!

Mixed platter of char-grilled lamb, chicken kebabs, chicken sausages, chicken wings & pepper lamb sausages.
This dish was humongous!! But the menu did actually state that it can serve 3-5 pax. As it was the last dish to arrive, we were wondering if we could even finish it!!
Dessert time!~!~!

‘Fantastically refreshing" Japanese Jelly dessert served with silky fresh cream and syrup (voted Best Jelly in Malaysia by readers of ‘The Star’ Newspaper 23rd March 2008)
(notice the date?? hehehe)
We were curious about this ‘award-wining’ jelly and made sure we ordered it. Expectations were high!
The outcome? First spoonful gave a weird and confusing taste I would say, but after a few mouthful, it began to taste better and more unique.
Bitter at first but sweet at the end!!
Goes great with the accompanying diluted cream base (sprinkled with cocoa powder)

Thanks to Steven for the arrangement and Ken for the good service. It was nice of him to let us freely order what we deemed suitable and palatable to us.
